Debbie has been breeding Shetland Sheepdogs under the "Fairfax" prefix since 1983.  Since that time, she has bred over 70 Canadian & American champions, including Best In Show, Best In Specialty Show and Group winning dogs, as well as several ROMC's (Register of Merit Canada).  Several prominent Canadian and American kennels were founded on our bloodlines.

Most recently, we have made important contributions to the foundation lines of some prominent kennels in China, and Korea.

Debbie is a bookkeeper for a large Toronto crane company. Her hobbies include gourmet cooking, gardening, Pilates and Parelli Natural Horse.Man.Ship.

Fortunately for her husband Ken, he is an animal lover too! An award winning kitchen designer, he also builds terrific whelping boxes, lightweight grooming tables, and measuring wickets in pine and cedar (we will feature these for sale on the site in the future).  An avid fisherman, Ken also enjoys ATVing, hockey, and woodworking projects

Ken and Debbie purchased their property in June of 2001, and Fairfax is now located on Brock Road North, between the sleepy hamlet of Claremont, and the town of Uxbridge.  We are fortunate that our land backs on to the Durham Regional Forest, where we can hike for miles with the dogs on woodland trails.

In addition to the large, fenced running areas on our property, we also have spacious  covered  runs for visiting dogs, and puppies (pictured above while under construction).  Our attached heated and air conditioned garage is our kennel/grooming area.

A small hobby kennel, we only have 2 or three litters per year, which are raised in our large country kitchen.

Whether you like the "type" of Sheltie we breed or not; no one can dispute the friendly, outgoing temperaments that have made our dogs famous.

Welcome to  the wonderful world of Shelties!

Shelties & kids go together like peas & carrots!  Because of their size, Shelties make wonderful family pets, that are well suited to city life.  Even when full grown, they can be walked by small children without "overpowering" the child.

This is Holly, with her friend Sarah Cooper, looking for minnows in the river.

Shelties are wonderfully intelligent creatures,
that are very clean, and eager to please.

We hope you enjoy visiting with the ones we have showcased
on the following pages.
